Teachers are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and designing individual systems of support that promote desirable behaviors while reducing challenging behaviors. One approach to enhancing teachers’ instructional and behavioral expertise is to provide teacher candidates with a foundational understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA). This paper describes three key concepts of behavior analysis that teacher educators can integrate in educator preparation programs (EPPs) to better prepare teacher candidates to support students effectively. In addition, the authors offer practical strategies for integrating ABA content within EPPs.
