This article focuses on the design and development of a paraprofessional pathway within a fully-scaled residency program at a large, public university that graduates more than 200 teacher candidates per year. Key design elements include: the residency structure and Site Coordinator role; the selection and training of mentor (host) teachers; shared governance with school district and campus partners; and coordinated recruitment efforts with district partners. Findings from this paper are particularly relevant given the current policy context of House Bill 2/PREP Allotment funding for Grow Your Own programs.
